Knitwear (jerseys) Manufacturing

Knitwear is the centre of what we do. Around sixty percent of ANT Textile's production is knitted garments, and the rest is woven — so the knitwear line is not a side capability bolted onto a woven factory.

We work with brands that need knitwear which holds its shape wash after wash, in fabrics that behave the way the sample promised. That starts with the yarn and the knit structure, long before the sewing floor.

Fabrics and constructions

We knit and cut jersey, interlock, rib, lycra-blend, french terry, polar and fleece constructions, in cotton, viscose, modal, Tencel™, bamboo and the synthetic blends a technical brief may call for.

Weight, gauge and finish are agreed with you at development stage, because those three decisions set both the hand of the garment and what the fabric will cost. Changing them later is the fastest way to lose a delivery date.

From tech pack to bulk

Pattern making and modelling happen in house, which matters most in knitwear where a garment is cut from tubes and panels rather than flat cloth. A pattern written for a machine that cannot make the garment is expensive to discover late.

Proto and fit samples are built on the intended knit structure, then the technical file is closed out before costing. Bulk production follows the same file, with our inspectors checking on the line as the run progresses.

Certified knitwear

Our facilities hold GOTS, GRS and OEKO-TEX accreditation and run ISO 9001 management systems, so organic cotton, recycled polyester and low-impact dyeing routes can be documented rather than simply claimed.

Third-party laboratory testing is arranged whenever a customer or a market requires it, including the standards that apply to children's wear.
